North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il diet at 70 at 8:30 am on Saturday due to heart attack while in train trip as part of his field tours.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il diet at 70 at 8:30 am on Saturday (2330 GMT Friday),due to heart attack while in train trip as part of his field tours. Kim suffered stroke in 2008 but fully recovered. His son Kim Jung-Un is cited to follow hos father leadership.

North Korea is an impoverished but nuclear armed nation. The country is in technically war to the South Korea since their three-year Korean conflict ended only in an armistice in 1953. A week ago the North prohibits the South to post a Christmas tree at the border.

Korean Central News Agency in a statement the heir son will lead the funeral committee. The body of Kim Jong-Il lie in state in Kumsusan palace where his father's embalmed body is on display. The visitation is allowed from December 20 to 27. The burial will be on December 29 and mourning shots are to be fired and three minutes of silence would be observed. All trains and ships will sound their horns.
